Cleveland Foodbank

At the second Blue Mountain Cares event, staff members spent an evening working in a giant refrigerated room, sorting food at the Cleveland Foodbank. The Cleveland Foodbank serves over 150,000 people annually and distributes approximately enough food for 37,000 meals per day.

The Foodbank supplies a majority of the food used in local soup kitchens, shelters, and food pantries. They also provide food to child- care centers, group homes, and programs for the elderly. The Foodbank works closely with other Northeast Ohio hunger relief organizations, providing food and nonfood products to hunger centers.
